Slacking!!
I am going to be the first one to admit that I have been slacking as of late. As I was telling Martha, I just have to work exercising into my schedule on a daily basis and I have not done that. I may not be able to run the whole thing but I am going to run as much as I can and walk the rest. I am trying to stay motivated but I just get so bored running. I think I might be in trouble. I think things will change once the weather gets nice. I think I am suffering from the winter blues a little bit. Good luck everyone!!

For your aches and pains
http://www.relaxtheback.com/exercise-and-therapy-foam-rollers-product-6374106
My bootcamp trainer recommened this foam roller for my side-knee pain. It relieves muscle tension. . . so far it has helped me - it is painful, but as Colette says: "A good hurt?"

Another recruit!!
Kevin Birusingh has decided to run with us!!! woo hoo. I heard Martha is trying to race the clock--so much for my piggy back. Maybe I can convince Kevin to hang back in case I need a lift. Probably not. Maybe he and Martha should race:)

SMACKING!
Well, my only motivation for the three mile run last night was the girl next to me. I could not wait to get off of the treadmill and tell her that her music was too darn loud and if she smacked her gum another time, I was going to lose my mind. I wonder if she had any idea what she was doing? Oh well. I made it....barely though.

Pay Up!
Registration for the half marathon closes at 6,000 people (which is kinda small) so we should sign up sooner rather than later.
And goodness knows, if you register, you'll be LESS likely to bail out when $40 is at stake.
Here is the link to register:

Jeff Galloway sounds like a total wimp!
Uh...I don't think so. I am RUNNING the whole thing. And I did do my 3 mile run today at the Pinnacle Club. I had to do 66 laps and lost count at least 7 times. Also, I ran with ankle weights AND dumbbells. Take that.
Wimping OUT!
FYI - I've decided that out of love for my knees, I am not going to run the full marathon. Running for 5 hours straight is just not natural. . . right? that is my excuse anyway.
Jeff Galloway
Hello everyone! First of all, Runner-- how was Sundance? Please post on the blog about that with some pics. I will email you the training. :0)
I was speaking with a teacher that has done a 1/2 marathon and her husband has done a few marathons. She said that her husband's best times (and I guess he is pretty serious about the marathon) were when he used the "Jeff Galloway" strategy. She said she is going to do it this time for the 1/2 b/c the last one was very painful at the end, for her personally (of course it won't be for us). You run/jog for 8-9 minutes then walk for 1 minute. I guess you do this even at the beginning and it is suppose to really help reserve your energy and actually increase your pace. What do you guys think? Any opinions?

you guys rock!
You guys rock! Good job!
Coco - Can you send me the training plan too?
Dana - please excuse my motherly nature here, but DO NOT run with ankle weights, that is so bad for your knees!!!!!! Please tell me that was just a joke.

Off and Running...
Well, I suppose we owe a big thanks to Colette and Martha for getting us all off of our arses. While I'm running I cuss you out, but I appreciate it, very much. Remember that my mom will be walking, so invite your friends to join her.
